2021 Champion Annual Awards
We got booked for the 2021 Champion Annual Awards on a Sunday. My phone rang and it was a new client who wanted to talk about an event that would hold five (5) days away. We do get impromptu bookings like that sometimes. The event was organized by the Champion Newspapers Nigeria Limited and it took place at the Jazmine hall of Eko Hotels & Suites.
By the end of that discussion an agreement was reached, Band EnRoute would be the official live music band for the event. At the end of the day, as is our style, we delivered.

These recognitions were not designed to promote frivolity or pecuniary interests but to honor very hard working and distinguished Nigerians or companies who have impacted very positively on the lives of generality of citizens in the preceding year or decade(s) as the case may be.

And so, great Nigerians with landmark achievements in their chosen endeavors were celebrated. One of the awardees was Mr Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo popularly known by his stage name KCee.
Apart from being an awardee, KCee also performed at the event. Limpopo (my favorite of his hit songs) held me spell-bound the first day I heard it while walking down the street. The effect was the same when he performed the song with Band EnRoute at The Headies Awards.
