My phone rang and a soft spoken voice inquired about booking the band for a birthday performance. We had a brief discussion talking about the job and terms, then came to an agreement. There was no clue that we were talking about a royal birthday celebration.

A few days later, it was time to meet the client and check-out the venue (I usually do this myself). It was there that i received the shocker of the month. The person i had been talking to is the Oba Elect of Isheri and Aworiland, HRH Oba Adekunle Bamgbade.

Suffice it to say that he is the kind of client every vendor would like to work for. I found him to be kind, considerate, but firm. He knew exactly what he wanted and as always, our delivery was top-notch.

Soon, it was time for him to say a few words. As he gave his speech and talked about the infrastructural changes his reign is going to bring, i could hear his passion, see his vision and feel his resolve to do right by his people.

Congratulations on such a royal birthday your highness, may your reign be more remarkable than those of kings past. Kabiyesi ooooooo!
