Damola and Rotimi’s wedding was one event i was eager to perform at. I have known Rotimi for about a decade, as a matter of fact, he has sent a couple of jobs our way over the years. So, when i heard Operation: #DamDamAtiRoro was in the offing, i said to Bolaji the groom’s brother “Say no more, i accept your terms. There is no way Band EnRoute is not gonna be a part of this grand event”.

It was a classy and intimate affair that happened at The White Stone Place. The food was finger-licking good, the D.J. was on fire (according to the groom, i didn’t see any smoke), and the band was… you already know na, Band EnRoute is Second To None. When you see a bride take-off-her-shoes on her wedding day like this bride did, its serious business, no be joke!

A Wedding to Remember

On a more personal level, the highlight of the event was a personal discussion i had with an eminent U.K. based serial entrepreneur, whose ability to multi-task is incomprehensible. She had had a near-death experience after which, she decided to re-evaluate her life and values. The result of this evaluation (as understood by me), is listed below, and it is a code that i have decided to live by.

• Indeed, there is a God.
• And this God, he is real.
• He steps into our affairs when we can no longer help ourselves; when all human, medical and academic knowledge fail.
• No matter our achievements, no one lives forever, and no one lives more than ONCE.
• So, we need to make the most of it. We need to make this ‘one life’ count for something.
• Go and be a blessing to someone, help-out, walk the talk of your faith.

Thank you ‘unnamed beauty’ for this illumination. may you continue to excel in all your pursuits. If you had been absent, Damola & Rotimi’s wedding would have been incomplete.
