Oreoluwa & Ayodeji’s Wedding
This lovely couple found us online, two weeks to their D-day. After exchanging a couple of chats and phone calls, it was finally time to meet the clients. Oreoluwa & Ayodeji’s wedding was about to become a reality.
I found Ayo (the groom) to be a charming and easy-going chap. during the visit, he filled me in on the details i required. Apparently, they had planned to wed last year. They’d booked a venue and paid vendors…, only for their chosen weekend to become the first weekend of the Covid-19 LockDown. Well, you can fill in the blanks.
And so, they had to begin the process all over again. This time, Band EnRoute was on board.
She lied To Me
A few days after the visit, while chatting with the bride, i told her she’d need to come along with good dancing shoes. Do you know what she said to me? She said “Ha! I can’t dance ooooooo!”.
Fast forward to the D-day. The music was blaring and the couple was dancing down-the-aisle, then suddenly three quarters of the way, they switched gears. My soft-spoken and easy going groom metamorphosed into a dancing machine, churning out all kinds of naija dance moves, both past and present.
Then i looked over at the bride to see how she was coping on the dancefloor, with this ‘stepper’ she’d gotten married to. Suffice it to say that i received the shock of the month. Mrs “I can’t dance oooooo!”was doing wonder on that dancefloor too. Slides, rolls, shakes, Ko mo le, she did them all. The only thing she didn’t do was twerk. Ha! Ha! Ha!
We had so much fun. The food was great, drinks ‘yapa’, and the planner @sammydamselsevents turned out to be another delightful person. And that was how we did Oreoluwa & Ayodeji’s wedding. We wish the couple all the love and happiness in the world.
