I am feeling a little nostalgic today because this is my birth month, and Time After Time a song by Cyndi Lauper, is what comes to mind. I want to appreciate the crew that i have with me now at Band EnRoute. Some of them have been through unimaginably hard times at other places, yet here we are together, still forging ahead. We are making new memories, sharpening each other in our drive to achieve excellence in our field of specialty.

Against several odds, we just played The Headies Awards, our best performance yet in the six years we’ve been playing that event. We are good at what we do and we know it, its been proven time after time. Once, we drove from Lagos-Nigeria to Accra-Ghana, played at a wedding reception, and drove back all night, because we had another Nigerian wedding in Lagos the following day.

Regardless, We Forge Ahead

I have been doing this for a long time. Over the years there have been hurt and healing, pain and gain, lots of exits and entrances. However, i have come to realize that it’s a cycle that will never end. So, since i can’t stop people from leaving, the trick is to fill the vacuum they leave with better, more talented and more skilful replacements. Guess what? it worked, and it is still working, That’s why we are stronger and better. As the saying goes…, Soja Come Soja Go Barracks Remain.

So, to the next wedding reception waiting to happen, we are here to put a smile on your face. To all the parties and concerts in the offing, we are here to put a spring in your steps. We Are Second To None.
